The Al-Maktoum Institute’s application to be a Highly Trusted Sponsor with the UK Border Agency has been approved.
The Agency, an executive agency of the Home Office, is responsible for securing the border and controlling migration for the benefit of the UK.
The Highly Trusted status is designed to identify those sponsors who have the highest levels of compliance with their sponsor obligations, and whose students are showing the greatest compliance with the terms of their visa or permission to stay.
As a holder of a Highly Trusted Sponsor licence, the Institute is able to offer a wider range of courses to international students.
It will also be offered new services by the Agency to recognise its track record of good compliance, such as an account management function, and a more flexible approach to reporting student non-attendance.
“We are pleased that our application for Highly Trusted Sponsor status has been approved,” said Institute Principal, Professor Malory Nye.
“It recognises that the Institute and its students are complying fully with the terms and conditions that apply to students coming here from overseas to undertake courses.”
