Institute Principal, Professor Malory Nye is pleased to report that the Court of the University of Aberdeen has approved the re-validation of the MLitt and PhD programmes of the Al-Maktoum Institute from October 1, 2009 for a further period of three years. This decision confirmed the recommendation by the University’s revalidation panel that visited the Institute in August.
“This is good news for the Institute and we are grateful to the University of Aberdeen for its continuing and expert support,” said Professor Nye.
“We are pleased that our taught and research programmes in Islamic Studies, Islamicjerusalem Studies, Multiculturalism, and Muslims Globalisation and the West have been re-validated as this will help us to build on the excellent progress we are making at the Institute. The continuation of the validation agreement with the University means that postgraduate students at the Al-Maktoum Institute will continue to study on University of Aberdeen programmes and be awarded degrees from the University. Both the Institute and our students greatly appreciate this recognition.
“The University of Aberdeen is a leading international university, with ambitions to become one of the top 100 universities in the world. We therefore greatly value our partnership with the University, and look forward to this continuing.”
