Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer Visiting Al-Maktoum Institute

Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer, Alex Fergusson MSP, is visiting the Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Blackness Road, Dundee on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.

Professor Malory Nye, Acting Principal of the Institute, said, “We are delighted that the Presiding Officer is visiting the Institute to learn about our courses, our research and our philosophy to promote multiculturalism and cultural engagement for peaceful co-existence given the issues and challenges in society today.”

Mr Fergusson said the Institute was a unique facility in Scotland and he was keen to visit and to learn more about its work.
